A GeoBreak is a moment to share experiences and knowledge on various Geomatics topics, from GIS to 3D surveying, including GNSS and remote sensing. These are short, informal meetings—a casual chat among colleagues in front of the coffee machine, which has always been a hub for the birth of projects, ideas, and solutions. Unfortunately, in times of teleworking, this essential role risks being lost.
Gter has decided to bring that coffee machine into the virtual world and make it available to anyone who still wants to share and learn.
So far, we’ve discussed a wide range of topics, thanks in part to guest speakers who have expanded the variety of themes. Topics have ranged from the standard to the unusual and unexpected, like using GNSS for physiotherapists and athletic trainers, just an example. We’ve also addressed less technical but highly significant subjects, such as the crucial role of user communities, like QGIS Italia, in contributing to software and promoting Open Source culture in the geomatics field.
Participation continues to grow, as does interaction among participants. That virtual coffee machine has become a space for ideas, opinions, and shared experiences. Gter wants to thank everyone who has made this initiative possible and been an integral part of it with their participation.
Gter will continue GeoBreaks, offering even more interesting topics to the table with new guests and participants.
GeoBreaks take place on the first Wednesday of every month, starting at 9:00 a.m. See you at the usual link!
